Historical tick data

Manage tick history as a repository, not a pile of files.

TickArk gives historical tick data an operational lifecycle: select the range, acquire the source data, compare coverage, detect problems, retry recoverable periods and prepare verified history for export.

THE FOUNDATION

What historical tick data represents.

Tick data records individual market updates at their available timestamps, commonly including bid and ask prices. Unlike a pre-built candle, tick history preserves the sequence from which time-based or event-based views can be constructed.

That detail makes tick data useful for strategy research, execution modelling and high-resolution backtesting—but it also makes long histories operationally demanding. A multi-year range may consist of many smaller source packages, and a partially acquired period can be easy to overlook without explicit coverage and integrity controls.

TickArk focuses on that operational layer. It does not provide trading signals or promise research outcomes; it helps make the data preparation workflow visible and repeatable.

REPOSITORY CAPABILITIES

One workspace for source, local state and recovery.

01

Cross-asset catalogue

Browse source instruments across forex, metals, commodities, indices, cryptocurrencies, stocks, ETFs and bonds.

02

Range-aware acquisition

Choose exact start and end dates or convenient current-year, previous-year and full-range presets.

03

Coverage comparison

Read source availability beside local coverage, data size, gaps, problem count and verification status.

04

Fast repository search

Filter instruments and descriptions on every typed character instead of manually expanding every market group.

05

Integrity verification

Run a full source check and inspect local intervals to identify detectable incomplete or inconsistent periods.

06

Targeted recovery

Retry unverified hours or repair selected problems while keeping the chosen scope explicit.

ACQUISITION

Select only the history you intend to manage.

The download/update workflow shows the source range, current local state and the exact requested interval. Presets make common ranges fast without hiding the underlying dates.

OBSERVABILITY

See coverage and problems before export.

The repository view keeps source availability, local coverage, gap duration, problem counts, size and status in the same row. Favourites and category groups keep large instrument catalogues navigable.

PRACTICAL QUESTIONS

Historical tick data, without the vague promises.

Does TickArk sell or generate market data?

TickArk is a workflow layer for acquiring and managing historical data from supported source ecosystems. It does not invent missing market events or generate synthetic ticks.

Does a completed integrity check guarantee a profitable or realistic backtest?

No. Repository integrity and strategy validity are different questions. TickArk can surface detectable data and acquisition problems; it cannot validate a trading idea, execution model or future result.

Can I work with a specific date range?

Yes. The current product supports explicit start and end dates as well as common period presets, so acquisition and updates remain scoped.

Where can verified data go today?

MetaTrader 5 is the current supported platform target. MetaTrader 4 export is planned but not available.
